Latinx isn’t a race. It’s an ethnicity.

Hispanic isn’t a race nor is it interchangeable with Latinx, it’s a term used to refer to people who speak Spanish, more often than not from Spain.

Not all Latinxs speak Spanish. Some also speak Portuguese, Indigenous languages, and dialects like patois and creole, especially in The Caribbean.

If you go to Latin America, people will identify with their own nationalities instead of the term Latinx. 

Latinx is a global, simplified term for people who come from the Latin American region, which encompasses part of North America (Mexico), Central America (Belize, Costa Rica, El Salvador, Guatemala, Honduras, Nicaragua, and Panama), South America (Argentina, Bolivia, Brazil, Chile, Colombia, Ecuador, Paraguay, Peru, Uruguay, and Venezuela) and part of The Caribbean (Dominican Republic, Haiti, Cuba, Puerto Rico).
